Our Story
The Bonkers Beat Music Program was created in 2006, Melbourne and has already achieved amazing results in children’s learning and development.
[pullquote2 align=”right” variation=”orange”]Through a number of surveys and questionnaires, educators and parents outlined that after using the Bonkers Beat program children have improved their social skills, concentration, speech, language, listening skills, gross motor and fine motor skills, co-operation and team work, patience, imagination, self-esteem, acceptance, memory, spatial intelligence, sense of beat, rhythm, singing, playing instruments, appreciation and love of music, multicultural and social identity.[/pullquote2]
Since 2007, more than 20 children with special needs and English as a Second Language have attended Bonkers Beat centres. As a result of being in a mainstream environment and having music as a foundation for their learning, these children have shown a dramatic progress in their development.
Bonkers Beat Kinder became the first music kinder in Australia where music is the main key for the development of the whole child. This program is designed to nurture each individual and develop their culture and sense of identity.
Just recently Bonkers Beat® Music & Bonkers Gym® Wellbeing Programs were selected as two of the most innovative practices in Victoria by the Department of Education & Early Childhood Development in 2010 & 2011! Both Programs are receiving more and more interest from many educators across the country and we are proud to be a leader in Early Childhood Education.
In 2010 the Bonkers Beat Music Kinder in Brighton was selected for the E4Kids study conducted by DEECD and the University of Melbourne and the Bonkers Beat Music Kinder & Childcare Centre in Aspendale has been selected as a pilot for NQS.
The Bonkers Beat Program and its curriculum aim to develop a strong sense of wellbeing and health, to develop confident and active learners, to create effective communicators, to support creativity through activities such as music and movement, art and craft, languages, and to develop every child’s fine and gross motor skills.
